    We offer private expert tutoring services in: Language Arts: English as a Second Language (ESL), French or Français Langue Etrangère (FLE) Mathematics: Pre-Algebra/Algebra, Arithmetic, Pre-Calculus/Calculus, Geometry, Probabilities, Statistics, Trigonometry Science: Anatomy-Physiology, Biochemistry, Biology (Cellular and Molecular), Chemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Pharmacology, Toxicology We also offer services in some of these subjects for K-12 students enrolled in Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) Classes, or in Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) programs.

    We offer private expert tutoring services to K-12 students i.e. Kindergarten (K) Elementary School: Grades 1-5 Middle School: Grades 6-8 High School: Grades 9-12 College Preparatory Classes: Honors classes AP (Advanced Placement) classes We also offer services for K-12 students enrolled in Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) programs.
  • Where does Après-School Tutoring offer tutoring services?
    We offer private, personalized, one-on-one expert tutoring services for grades K-12, in-person or in-home and online . In-person tutoring sessions, within the Greater Los Angeles, CA area, may take place in the comfort of your own home, at a local cafe, at a public library near you, or at any other location of your preference and convenience. For online tutoring sessions, we will meet via Zoom, Skype, Teams, Google Hangouts, etc.
  • Are virtual or online tutoring sessions available?
    Yes, we do provide private virtual or online one-on-one expert tutoring sessions. For virtual or online sessions, we will meet via Zoom, Teams, Google Hangouts, etc.

    Dr. Pauline is available for in-person/in-home and online one-on-one tutoring sessions: - On weekdays in the evening: Mondays-Thursdays: 4-8pm PST Fridays: 4-6pm PST - On weekends: Saturdays: 1-4pm PST Sundays: 1-5pm PST

  • How long is a tutoring session?
    The minimum duration for a private in-person or in-home tutoring session is 1h, and 45 min for online tutoring. However, we are more than happy to accommodate the duration of the tutoring session based on you and your child’s preferences, needs and abilities.
  • How often can my child meet with your expert tutor Dr. Pauline?
    Dr. Pauline is more than happy to meet with your child as often as needed. A minimum of once a week is recommended.
  • What is the pricing structure for tutoring sessions?

  • How can I request tutoring services?
    You can request tutoring services on the Après-School Tutoring's website www.apreschooltutoring.com by filling out our ‘Contact’ form or click the ‘Contact Us’ button to schedule a free consultation with our private expert tutor, Dr. Pauline.   • Do you offer tutoring over vacations and summer break?
    Yes, we do offer tutoring sessions over vacations and summer break.
  • Do you offer group tutoring sessions?
    Currently, we provide one-on-one tutoring sessions. However, we are more than happy to accommodate based on you and your child’s preferences, needs and abilities. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at contact@apresschooltutoring.com for more information.
  • What forms of payment does Après-School Tutoring accept?
    At Après-School Tutoring, payments can be made by Apple Pay, bank transfer, cash, check, credit (3% fee) or debit card, PayPal or Venmo. If you have any billing inquiries, please feel free to reach out to us directly at contact@apresschooltutoring.com for more information.
  • What is the invoicing process like?
    Invoices will be sent on the 1st of each month to your email or mailing address. Payments shall be due on a monthly basis by the 5th of the month. Payments are to be made ahead of the tutoring session(s).
  • What is the late-payment policy?
    Late payments are subject to a late fee of $10.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    If a session needs to be canceled or rescheduled, please provide at least 24 hours of notice. Late cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to the following penalty fee: First late/last minute cancellation: we charge 50% of the session rate Second late/last minute cancellation: we charge 75% of the session rate Third late/last minute cancellation: we charge 100% of the session rate All reasonable extenuating circumstances will be taken into account. Repetitive late cancellations may result in termination of tutoring services. In the event the tutor needs to cancel a tutoring session for any reason, the tutor will let the client know as early as they can, and will offer two other times to reschedule for a makeup tutoring session.
  • What is the no-show policy?
    If the student fails to attend a scheduled tutoring session without providing prior notice, no refund will be issued for that session. All reasonable extenuating circumstances will be taken into account. Repetitive “no shows” may result in termination of tutoring services.

  • What qualifications does Dr. Pauline have as a tutor?
    At Après-School Tutoring, we offer unique expertise and skills as well as exceptional educational experience to help you reach your learning goals and achieve academic success! As the expert tutor and founder of Après-School Tutoring, Dr. Pauline is a highly-skilled, qualified and experienced tutor with doctorates in: Pharmacy (PharmD) from the Université de Lille 2 (Lille, France) Biology/Molecular Genetics (PhD) from the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL) and a Masters in Pharmacology (MRes) from Nottingham Trent University (Nottingham, UK). She is originally from Lille, France, a French native speaker fluent in English, and currently living in Los Angeles, CA. She has been living in English-speaking countries including the U.S. for 12+ years. Dr. Pauline has over 20 years of tutoring, teaching and mentoring experience (~4,000 hours) in Language Arts, Mathematics and Science. She has a strong track record of success! In fact, Dr. Pauline has helped countless students and mentees (350+) excel academically, improve their confidence inside & outside of the classroom, & get accepted into top, prestigious schools & Ivy League Universities such Stanford University, the University of Pennsylvania, Keck Medicine of USC, etc, as well as in competitive academic programs such as medical, dental, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine school.   • How do you track progress and communicate with parents/guardians?
    At Après-School Tutoring, we ensure to establish open communication channels with parents/guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress. Specifically, we will provide regular feedback on the student's progress in the form of a complementary First Tutoring Assessment and Report Form after our 1st free tutoring session/assessment, a short Tutoring Session Memo after each tutoring session, and a Tutoring Progress Assessment Forms (after 1st month and once a quarter after that). We encourage open communication. Open communication is a key part of a productive, long-term relationship and is essential for a successful tutoring experience. The client can best support the student’s progress by responding to all communications in a timely manner.   • What resources do you provide for students?
    We will purchase and procure textbooks, student workbooks, school supplies, etc unless there is/are a specific textbook(s) that the student needs or wants.
  • Do you offer a trial or free tutoring session?
    During the initial Parent-Tutor-Student meeting, Dr. Pauline will perform a free short (15-20 min) tutoring session/evaluation to help you assess the suitability of her tutoring services and determine if Après-School Tutoring is a good fit for you, your child and their learning needs and goals. If you believe that Dr. Pauline's tutoring services are a good fit for the student’s learning needs and academic goals, we will send you a complementary First Tutoring Assessment and Report Form with detailed information about the student’s current academic status, learning preferences, strengths, identified weaknesses and areas of improvement, and specific educational needs and goals. In that form, we will also outline the 3-5 short- and long-term learning and tutoring goals as well as develop a customized instructional plan that is tailored to the student’s needs and goals. .
  • How does Après-School Tutoring handle special needs or learning differences?
    We currently do not have any specialized training to handle students with special needs or learning differences. However, we are more than happy to accommodate students with special needs or learning differences to the best of our ability.     To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Add a new question & answer 3. Assign your FAQ to a category 4. Save and publish. You can always come back and edit your FAQs.
  • Can I insert an image, video, or GIF in my FAQ?
    Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 4. Add media from your library and save.
  • How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?
    You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.
